IndianCare: Supporting the Indian Community in Regional Victoria for Over 7 Years

For more than 7 years, since IndianCare started their helpline, we have been supporting the Indian community living in regional Victoria. Through our helpline and services, we provide guidance, and referrals to ensure that Indian families and individuals living outside metropolitan Melbourne receive the help they need.

Helping Indian Communities Across Regional Victoria

Many Indian families have made their homes in towns and cities across regional Victoria, including:

  • Geelong

  • Ballarat

  • Bacchus Marsh

  • Seymour

  • Lara

  • Wangaratta and many more

We understand that living in regional areas can sometimes mean limited access to culturally appropriate services, language support, and information. IndianCare’s helpline bridges this gap by connecting people to the right resources and services.

How IndianCare Helpline Supports You

Our helpline is a trusted resource for Indian community members seeking help with a variety of challenges, including:

  • Understanding and accessing health and social services

  • Navigating government support like Centrelink and housing assistance

  • Family and domestic violence support

  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing guidance

  • Employment and education information

  • Racism and discrimination and much more

When you call our helpline, you’ll speak with friendly, bilingual staff who understand your needs and culture. We don’t just provide information; we also offer referrals to local services and help you connect with the right service.

Why IndianCare is Important for Regional Communities

Regional areas may lack specialised support tailored to the Indian community, which can lead to feelings of isolation or confusion about where to seek help. IndianCare’s ongoing presence and helpline service help overcome these barriers by offering a culturally safe and accessible point of contact for anyone in need.
